Betting in Posadas
Posadas is a capital city in the Argentine province of Misiones with a population of approximately 324,756 citizens. One might imagine that Buenos Aires, being the nation’s capital is the only place in Argentina to find significant recreational and cultural action but this is not the case. Posadas offers a wealth of activities and points of interest, despite being in a separate province.
Posadas sits on the banks of a huge waterway, the Parana River. There, it is joined to the city of Encarnacion, which is in Paraguay, by a bridge. Posadas is a local hub for tourism and business. Historically, the area was founded by father Roque Gonzalez de Santa Cruz and the town was originally named Annunciation de Itapúa in 1615. In the 1864-1870 Paraguayan War, the area south of the river surrendered to the Supreme Director of the Confederation of Argentina, Gervasio Antonio de Posadas, at which point the town’s name was changed.
The National University of Misiones was founded in Posadas in 1973. In 1990, the San Roque Gonzalez de Santa Cruz Bridge opened, which invigorated the city’s economic and cultural ties with Encarnacion. Important industries began to flourish such as construction, textiles, food and tobacco, as well as services and commerce.
Posadas’s city lures travellers with its subtropical climate, river banks, fishing trips, architecture and gambling venues. Paraguay’s capital city, Asuncion is only a few hundred miles away; however, Posadas offers a far greater variety of gambling opportunities.
