Sun City is South Africa’s world famous luxury resort and casino. The city sits within natural landscape in between the National Park Game Reserve and the Elands River. The country’s biggest city, Johannesburg, and the administrative capital, Petoria, are only a couple of hours drive away. Sun City was created in 1979, by Sun International Group owned by hotel magnate Sol Kerner. Gerrie Coetzee went on the hold the title in 1983. Sun City also provided gambling opportunities within its fully licensed casino which is the only legitimate venue for miles around. Today, Sun City Resort Casino Complex is a truly vast establishment. It boasts a total of five hotels, with a combined total of 1,353 rooms, including the sumptuous colonial-style Cascades Hotel, which boasts tranquil gardens and a beautiful bird aviary. Other hotels include the Sun City Vacation Club, the family-oriented Cabanas Hotel and the Palace of the Lost City, which is a luxury 5-star venue.
The Sun City Hotel possesses four stars and is located beside the world renowned Gary Player golf course, offering 340 guest suites, all with lake views. The hotel is also home to the Sun City Casino which has three separately themed areas - the International room including the Sun Cafe serving light refreshments and drinks, the Salon Prive and the Harlequin’s Smoking Casino.
In the casino, there are more than 600 state-of-the art slot machines on site for round-the-clock gambling action.
