Premier League preview and odds: Manchester City vs Burnley
January 02, 2016 15:00pm - Etihad Stadium
Referee: L. Mason
Premier League
Manchester City will look to bounce back from their New Year`s Eve defeat at Anfield when they welcome the league`s worst away side to the Etihad Stadium on holiday Monday.
One defeat in last 12 at home for City
Only league leaders Chelsea have taken all three points from the Etihad Stadium since March of last year. However, Manchester City have only won two of their last six at home, having drawn three and lost the other one.
Pep Guardiola`s team have scored in every game they have played on home soil this term and will look to extend that record into the New Year.
Meanwhile, Burnley will look to shake the tag of worst travellers in the league when they take to the field for the first time in 2017. The Clarets have picked up just one point on the road since returning to the top flight but have managed to keep their heads above the relegation waters thanks to their strong home form.
In their last away match (at Tottenham Hotspur), Sean Dyce`s men scored away from Turf Moor for just the second time this season but still ran out losers. There has been little to suggest that they might reverse their fortunes when they face one of the Premier League`s title contenders on Monday.
Having said that, the Lancashire side did pick up their only away point of the season on their last visit to the city of Manchester when they played out a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford back in October. They come into this game on the back of a convincing 4-1 win at home to Sunderland.
Team news
The home side are still without captain Vincent Kompany who is struggling with a ligament problem. He has been joined in the treatment room by Ilkay Gundogan (knee) and Leroy Sane, while Fabian Delph is still struggling for match fitness.
Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without the suspended Dean Marney.

Betting odds and tips
With Burnley struggling for points and goals on the road, this game should be a walk in the park for the home side. However, punters may struggle to find decent odds.
The Manchester City/Win to Nil bet may tempt some at a best price of 5/6. Or for even better odds, two correct score bets (2-0 and 3-0) could be worth a punt at 6/1 each.
You can back a correct of score of 2-0 at 6/1 and a correct score of 3-0 at 6/1 - both with Bet365.
