Premier League preview and odds: Manchester United vs Hull City

February 1 , 2017 20:00pm - Old Trafford

Premier League

Manchester United will look to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 14 games when they welcome bottom-of-the-table Hull City to Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Top four still a realistic target for United

After a shaky start to the season that saw them fall well behind in the race for the top four places, Manchester United have hauled themselves right back into contention with an impressive run of 13 games without loss. Their last defeat came away to Chelsea (4-0) way back in October. On home soil, their undefeated run stretches back to September, when they fell 1-2 in the Manchester derby.

The Red Devils only taste of defeat in recent weeks came against Wednesday night`s opponents in the second leg of the League Cup semi-final last week, when they fell 2-1 but still progressed on aggregate.

Meanwhile, despite some improved performances under new boss Marco Silva, Hull City have fallen back to the bottom of the table.

Recent wins include, the second leg of the League Cup semi-final, and a 3-1 triumph over Bournemouth in their last league game at the KCOM.

However, away from home, the Tigers have lost their last nine in a row and have only scored one goal in their last seven. In addition, they have conceded at least one goal in each of their last 20 Premier League games.

Team news

The homes side will be without the injured James Wilson (ACL) but otherwise have a fully-fit squad to choose from.

Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without the injured group of Curtis Davies (hamstring strain), Ryan Mason (fractured Skull), Markus Henriksen (dislocated shoulder), Will Keane (knee injury), Greg Luer (cartilage injury), Brian Lenihan (knee), MosesOdubajo (MPFL injury) and Alex Bruce (Surgery).

Betting odds and tips

Hull City will make it tough for United just as they did in their recent 2-0 defeat at Chelsea. As a result, the 7/5 on offer for an Under 2.5 Goals total looks like a decent shout.

Under 2.5 Goals can be backed at 7/5 with Bet365.
