Liverpool kick-off Saturday`s game against Southampton needing just eight more wins to confirm their status as Premier League champions. Meanwhile, the visitors will look to continue their surge up the table which has put them in touching distance of a place in Europe.

It is almost inconceivable that Liverpool will not win the Premier League title. They can afford to drop 18 points and still finish first, even if Manchester City win all their remaining games. However, they still have a job to do and a Champions League title to defend so no one at the club will want to lose focus heading into the final months of the season.

The Reds have won their last 15 Premier League matches in a row and have only dropped two points all season. On home soil, they have won their last 19 since the draw with Leicester City a year ago and they are unbeaten in their last 51. In the last seven years, the Anfield side have only lost one league match against their opponents. That defeat came back in 2016.

Meanwhile, the Saints arrive on Merseyside having lost just three of their last 12 Premier League matches in a run that also included seven wins and two draws. Away from home, they have won their last four in a row including triumphs at Leicester City and Chelsea. They could provide a tricky challenge for the hosts.

As a result of their good form, Ralph Hasenhüttl`s men have gone from being relegation candidates to European contenders. They are just three points behind fifth-ranked Manchester United and eight clear of the drop zone. They have the third-best form in the league over the last 12 games.

Saturday will be a good text of focus for Klopps men who are moving ever close to their first Premier League title in 30 years. They host one of the league`s form teams and will not be taking anything for granted as ex-striker Danny Ings return to Anfield having netted 14 times this season.

The Saints haven`t failed to score away from home since the opening day of the season so they could be the team to break Liverpool`s run of four-straight home clean sheets.
