La Liga preview and odds: Granada vs Sevilla
January 02, 2016 21:05am - Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes
La Liga
The first Andalucian derby of 2016 will take place on Sunday as second-from-bottom Granada take on eighth-ranked Sevilla at Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes in La Liga.
Granada fighting for survival again
Since gaining promotion back to the top flight, Granada have spent most of their time occupying the relegation positions. However, they have somehow managed to avoid the drop back to the Segunda for the last three seasons running. With half of this season gone, Sandoval`s men once again look destined to be involved in a relegation battle.
After a poor start to the season followed by a period of recovery, the Nazaríes have suffered another blip, losing two games on the spin at home to Celta de Vigo (0-2) and away to Las Palmas (4-1).
Sevilla unbeaten in five
Sevilla had a frustrating start to the season but have gradually started to claw their way back up the league table. They are currently on an unbeaten streak of five games, having secured three wins and two draws since the end of November - all of those wins came in their home fixtures.
So far this term, Unai Emery`s men have failed to win a game away from home in La Liga, having drawn five and lost three. Last time out, they cruised to a 2-0 home won against Espanyol, thanks to first half goals from Immobile and Banega.
Team news
Granada will be without the suspended Cristiano Biraghi and the injured Piti.
Meanwhile, the visitors are still without the injured group of Gael Kakuta. Coke, Marco Andreolli, Beto and Nicolas Pareja.

Betting odds and tips
Sevilla will be clear favourites but the statistics show that they have not been great on the road this term. Granada have been fairly poor at home, but prior to their recent defeats to top-four sides Celta de Vigo and Atletico Madrid, they did beat Athletic Club (2-0) and held Deportivo La Coruna and Real Betis to 1-1 draws. At 13/5 with Bet365, the draw looks like a decent shout for this derby game.
