Everton will be hoping to arrest their steady decline down the Premier League table when they welcome relegation-threatened Newcastle United to Goodison Park on Wednesday night.

Over the last 10 Premier League matches, only Aston Villa have picked up less points than Everton. During that run, the Toffees have won just one league game, and that victory came against the team that they will face again on Wednesday night.

In the last 16 matches, Everton have only beaten the current bottom-three - as a result, they have dropped to 12th in the table. However, they remain eight points clear of the relegation zone. In their last match, Roberto Martinez`s men were beaten 2-1 at home by Swansea City - their third defeat in their last four home matches.

One win in seven for Newcastle

Newcastle are finding it hard to find a way out of the relegation zone, and looked destined to be involved in an end-of-season scrap for survival.

The Geordies have won just one of their last seven matches, having lost four and drawn two others. On the road, they have lost their last three in a row since securing an impressive win at Tottenham back in December. They come into this fixture on the back of a 2-1 defeat away to Watford last week.

Team news

The home side are still without Muhamed Besic, Tyias Browning and Tony Hibbert, while Kevin Mirallas remains a doubt.

Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without Massadio Haidara, Tim Krul, Gabriel Obertan and Curtis Good - however, Vurnon Anita could be available.
