Last week, things did not quite go to plan for Brendan Rodgers`s men as they failed to capitalise on home advantage in the first leg of this UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie. They must now get a positive result in Norway to keep their European hopes alive.

A lack of striking options did not help them last week but they remain the bookies favourites to progress despite their failure to seriously trouble the Rosenborg defence at Celtic Park. Anything other than a win on Wednesday would be seen as an upset when taking Celtic`s European credentials into account. But worryingly, their away record has always been their weakness in these events.

The Bhoys only need a score draw to progress, so getting that crucial away goal will be the priority. The return of Leigh Griffiths would give them a massive boost but he is still not fully fit and may have to be used sparingly.

Meanwhile, Rosenborg will be keen to take the opportunity to eliminate one of the biggest names in the qualifying section. The Norwegian club have already played half a season, so fitness should not be an issue, especially when considering that have had an uninterrupted week to prepare for this match. Their domestic form has been good and they are on course for yet another league title and they are desperate to make their mark on the European stage this term.
