Champions League preview and odds: Chelsea vs. Dynamo Kiev
November 4, 2015 19:45pm Stamford Bridge
Champions League
After playing out a draw in the last meeting in Ukraine, Champions League Group G rivals Chelsea and Dynamo Kiev now clash again in London on Wednesday night.
Chelsea still in crisis
Chelsea were once again beaten in the Premier League at the weekend and must now pick themselves up for what could be a crucial Champions League game against unbeaten Dynamo Kiev.
The 3-1 defeat against Liverpool and Jose Mourinhos bizarre post-game rant left many pundits believing it was the end of the road for the Portuguese boss, but as things stand, he remains in the Chelsea hot seat.
Chelseas poor domestic form has also spilled into the Champions League group stages where they currently third in Group G with a disappointing total of just four points. A win at home on Wednesday night would put their European campaign back on track with two games remaining.
The Blues were unfortunate not to have snatched the points in the first game having hit the woodwork twice and now have a great chance to leapfrog their opponents into second place in the group by defeating them on home soil.
Chelsea still in crisis
Dynamo remain unbeaten in Group G and will be relishing the chance to take on a Chelsea team that is completely lacking in confidence. With Porto leading the way, there is a great chance for the Ukrainian team to snatch a qualifying place ahead of the English team.
In gameweek one, they drew away to Porto before securing a win in Tel Aviv against Maccabi. The recent draw against Chelsea took their points total to five and left them in second place in the group. They have only won one of their last eight away games in the Champions League group stages.
Team news
Chelsea will be without Thibaut Courtois while Diego Costa, Ivanovic and Pedro are all doubtful. The visitors should have a full strength team to choose from.
