Premier League preview and odds: Stoke City vs Burnley
December 03, 2016 15:00pm - Bet365 Stadium
Premier League
Stoke City could break into the Premier League`s top 10 with a home win over 13th-ranked Burnley on Saturday. The visitors themselves could equal that feat if they can bag their first away win of the current campaign.
Normal service resumed at Stoke
After a terrible start to the Premier League campaign which saw them touted as relegation candidates, Stoke City have rallied well and are now back in the more familiar territory of mid-table obscurity.
Mark Hughes` men have lost just one of their last eight matches (a 0-1 home defeat to Bournemouth) and have risen to 11th place in the table, just four points behind sixth-ranked Manchester United.
The Potters come into this game on the back of a 1-0 win away to eighth-ranked Watford which marked their fourth win in the last six games.
Meanwhile, Burnley are still looking to add the paltry tally of one point that they have earned on the road this season. As a well as struggling for points away from home, the Clarets have also struggled for goals, having managed just one on their travels all term.
Sean Dyche`s men come into this game on the back of a 1-2 home defeat to title challengers Manchester City. That was their second defeat in a row after the 4-0 thrashing they received at West Brom.
Team news
The home side could welcome back Rayan Shawcross and Glenn Whelan subject to fitness tests, while Phil Bardsley (knee), Geoff Cameron (knee), Jack Butland (ankle), Stephen Ireland (leg) and Ibrahim Affelay (ACL) are all out of action.
Meanwhile, Dean Marney and Tom Heaton are both in contention for the visitors, while Johann Gudmundsson (hamstring) is unavailable.

Betting odds and tips
Stoke City have conceded at least one goal in all but one of their home matches this term. However, another clean sheet could be on the cards when they welcome the team with the worst away form in the league to the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday.
It is hard to make a case for Burnley when they are playing away from Turf Moor and the home win looks like the best bet here. To increase value, it could be combined with an Under 2.5 goal bet to produce a tempting price of 3/1.
You can back the Home Win at 13/20 with Bet365 or the Home Win/Under 2.5 Goal at 3/1.
