Premier League preview and odds: Crystal Palace vs Swansea
January 03, 2016 20:00pm - Selhurst Park
Referee: Paul Tierney
Premier League
Two of the Premier League`s relegation-threatened teams will battle it out on Tuesday night as 17th-ranked Crystal Palace host bottom-of-the-pile Swansea City at Selhurst Park.
One win in 13 for Palace
A run of just one win in their last 13 Premier League outings has seen Crystal Palace slip to within a point of the drop zone. As a result, the board has turned to former Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce in an attempt to reverse the club`s fortunes.
So far, the Eagles have added just a single point to their tally under Big Sam`s guidance but will be looking for all three when they take on 20th-ranked Swansea city on home soil this week.
Palace have lost five of their last six home matches, although they did face Chelsea, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs during that spell. They have only kept one clean sheet at Selhurst Park this term (in the 3-0 win against Southampton) and they have conceded the first goal in 75% of their matches. The Londoners come into this game on the back of a 2-0 defeat away to Arsenal in which they rarely threatened.
Meanwhile, opponents Swansea City will take to the field with new manager Paul Clement watching from the stands. The former Derby County boss has agreed a two-and-a-half deal to take over at the Welsh club following the departure of Bob Bradley. Like Allardyce, Clement will be tasked with maintaining the club`s top flight status, just as Francesco Guidolin did last year.
The Swans have lost their last four matches in a row and are winless in eight on the road since beating Burnley on the opening day. Six of their last eight away games have produced three or more goals.
Team news
The home side will have to make do without the services of Ezekiel Fryers (muscle injury), Connor Wickham (knee), Steve Mandanda (knee), Jonathan Benteke (meniscus), Pape Souare (surgery) and Loic Remy (quadriceps).
Meanwhile, the visitors will have to cope without the suspended Jordi Amat and the injured duo of Wayne Routledge (abcess) and Jefferson Montero (hamstring), while Fernando Llorente will face a late fitness test.

Betting odds and tips
Both teams will be hoping to shine in front of their new bosses, although Paul Clement will not take charge of the first team until after this clash.
Swansea have conceded an average of three goals per game in their last six away matches so Palace will be looking to put their opponent`s fragile back line under pressure once again. As a result, Over 2.5 Goals looks like a decent bet for this game.
