Premier League preview and odds: Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea
January 04, 2016 20:00pm - White Hart Lane
Referee: Martin Atkinson
Premier League
In-form Tottenham will look to extend their winning streak to five games by being the first side since September to take points off league leaders Chelsea.
Spurs unbeaten at home this season
Tottenham Hotspur have yet to lose a Premier League match at White Hart Lane this season, having won seven and drawn two, scoring at least once in every game. Mauricio Pochettino`s men also boast the tightest home defence in the league having conceded just five goals on home soil this term.
Over the Xmas period, the North Londoners cruised to back-to-back away wins at Southampton (1-4) and Watford (1-4) and will come into this game full of confidence. A win could move them up to third place in the table, just seven points behind their pace-setting opponents.
Meanwhile, Chelsea will be hoping to capitalise on Liverpool`s failure to beat Sunderland, by moving eight points clear of their title rivals. With a game at Anfield coming up at the end of the month, Antonio Conte will be keen to keep Klopp`s men at arm`s length as the title race hots up.
The Blues are aiming for their 14th straight win in the league and their seventh in a row away from home. Their Christmas schedule saw them win at home to AFC Bournemouth (2-0) and Stoke City (4-2) and they will remain in the capital once again for the first game of the New Year.
Team news
Erik Lamela is still recovering from a hip injury and remains the only absentee for the home side.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are waiting on the fitness of both Marcos Alonso and John Terry, with the former suffering from an ankle problem and the latter still on the road to recovery following a gluteal strain.

Betting odds and tips
This match could have a massive impact on this year`s title race with a Spur`s win throwing the field wide open and a Chelsea win extending the advantage of the current pace-setters to eight points.
However, Chelsea`s remarkable winning run must come to an end sooner or later and unbeaten-at-home Spurs are as qualified as anyone to do it. They have lost just one of their last 10 home meetings against Chelsea, winning four and drawing the other five.
With that in mind, the draw once again looks like a good option and can be backed at a best price of 47/20. However, with both sides in good scoring form, those odds can be boosted by backing the Draw/Both Teams to Score.
