Premier League preview and odds: Crystal Palace vs Sunderland

February 04 , 2017 15:00pm - Selhurst Park

Premier League

Crystal Palace will look to put some distance between themselves and their relegation rivals Sunderland when the two teams go head-to-head at Selhurst Park on Saturday. The visitors themselves will be aiming to break a five-game losing streak on the road,

Palace bag first win under Allardyce

Crystal Palace gave their survival hopes a massive boost when they triumphed away to Bournemouth last time out. Sam Allardyce`s men will now be hoping to build on that victory with a win against one of their fellow strugglers.

The Eagles have lost their last four in a row on home soil, scoring just two goals in the process, and they have recorded just two wins at home all season. In addition, they have conceded at least one goal in all but one of their home games this season.

Meanwhile, despite drawing 0-0 at home to Tottenham Hotspur in midweek, opponents Sunderland are still rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table. The Black Cats are winless in six and have lost their last five in a row away from home. In addition, David MoyesÂ’ men have scored just four goals in their last nine away games.

Team news

The home side will have to make do without the injured group of Jeffrey Schlupp (hamstring strain), Connor Wickham (knee ligament), Steve Mandanda (knee), Jonathan Benteke (meniscus) and Pape Souare (surgery).

Meanwhile, Papiss Djiloboji is suspended for the visitors, who will also be without the injured Victor Anichebe (knee), Jordan Pickford (anterior cruciate ligament sprain), Jan Kirchhoff (cartilage), Duncan Watmore (ACL), Paddy McNair (knee) and Lee Cattermole (hip).

Betting odds and tips

Palace have struggled for goals at home and Sunderland have been even more toothless on the road. As a result, a low goal count can be expected.
