Manchester City will look to move a step closer to the Premier League title when they host reigning champions Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The visitors themselves could do with a win to maintain their push for a top four finish.

After bagging their first piece of silverware under Pep Guardiola`s reign and beating Arsenal 3-0 twice in the space of a week, the Sky Blues will be full of confidence heading into this game. It seems almost certain that they will add second trophy to their haul but they will want to get over the line as soon as possible so they can turn their attention to their Champions League campaign. It is entirely feasible that they could have the title wrapped up by early April if they win their next five in a row.

The Citizens` last home game was a 5-1 win over Leicester City and they have scored three goals or more in 11 of their 14 league matches at the Etihad this term. And all but one of those matches paid out in the Over2.5 Goals market.

Meanwhile, Chelsea arrive here having slipped out of the top four after a run of three defeats in their last four league matches. As a result, they face a real challenge getting back into the Champions qualifying places with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur both in good form.

In the same fixture last season, Chelsea ran out 3-1 winners on their way to the title as City had two players sent off deep into injury time. However, the Blues no longer look the dominant force they once were and have struggled on the road since the end of November.

Betting odds and tips

Even without the likes of Sterling, Walker, Fernandinho and Delph, the home side look favourites to take all three points here. They have won their last 13 Premier League matches in a row on home soil and there is no reason to suggest that trend will be bucked here.

A City win looks good value with prices around 8/13 available, while Over 2.5 Goals is also worth considering at 3/4. Alternatively, these bets can be combined to achieve odds of around 13/10.
