Wimbledon preview and odds: Nick Kyrgios vs Andy Murray
July 04, 2016 - Wimbledon, Fourth Round
Andy Murray will be hoping to maintain his perfect record against Nick Kyrgios when the two players meet in the fourth round of the Wimbledon Championships on Monday.
Murray keen to capitalise on Djokvoic exit
With Novak Djokovic already out of the 2016 Wimbledon tournament, the door to a third Grand Slam title has been opened for Andy Murray. The Serb has beaten the Scot in five previous Grand Slam finals and many expected a similar outcome here. However, Murray has now been installed as tournament favourite and will be keen to take full advantage of his arch rival`s absence.
The Brit will now face young Aussie Nick Kyrgios who toiled through three difficult matches to earn his place in the fourth round. The 21-year-old has already played four sets more than Murray in the last week and will get little time to recover before the action starts again on Monday.
In the third round, Kyrgios was up against World No. 22 Feliciano Lopez of Spain and prevailed by a 6-3 6-7(2) 6-3 6-4 score-line. The Australian has yet to record a win against Murray and has claimed just two sets in their four previous encounters. They last met in the first round of the US Open when Murray strolled to a 7-5 6-3 4-6 6-1 win.
Betting predictions
Murray has everything going for him this week. Djokovic is out, Lendl is back in the coaching chair and he has a fourth round match against a player that has never beaten him to look forward to. In addition, he will be coming into this game much fresher than his opponent.
