Premier League preview and odds: Man United vs West Ham
December 5, 2015 15:00pm - Old Trafford
Premier League
Manchester United will be aiming to preserve their unbeaten home this weekend when they go head-to-head with a faltering West Ham side in this Barclays Premier League fixture.
Fortress of Dreams
Manchester United have not caused much excitement with their style of play this season, but their measured approach has proved very effective on home soil. The Red Devils have yet to lose a league game at Old Trafford and Liverpool are the only visitors to have found the net at the Theatre of Dreams. Despite their clinical record at home, many fans are still not convinced that Louis van Gaal is the right man for the job.
United fought hard to earn a 1-1 draw at Leicester in their last game and now sit in third place in the league, just a point off league leaders Manchester City. They have conceded just 10 goals all season and have kept a total of eight clean sheets.
West Ham hit sticky patch
Former top-four dwellers West Ham United have failed to win any of their last four games and are now sat in eighth place in the table, five points shy of the Champions League places. After making such good progress early on, it was perhaps inevitable that the Hammers would face a period of adversity. Their cause has not been helped by recent injuries to key players.
Their poor run started with defeat away to Watford followed by a draw at home To Everton. They then suffered a heavy loss away to Spurs before playing out a 1-1 stalemate at home to West Brom last week.
Team news
United will continue to operate without the services of Marcus Rojo, Ander Herrera, Phil Jones and Antonio Valencia, while Wayne Rooney should be available after suffering from a knock.
West Hams will be without key figures Dimitri Payet, Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho for this clash..
