Premier League preview and odds: Aston Villa vs Norwich City
February 6, 2016 15:00pm - Villa Park
Premier League
Aston Villa will continue their unlikely quest for Premier League survival on Saturday when they welcome fellow relegation-candidates Norwich City to Villa Park.
Villa need a miracle
Aston Villa still have a mathematical chance of remaining in the Premier League but that scenario is looking less likely with each passing week. Despite improvements, Remi Garde`s men have not given any indication that they are capable of winning the number of football matches that will be required if they are to avoid the drop.
However, they are unbeaten in three matches at home, and may fancy their chances against a Norwich side that has lost seven of their last eight away games.
The Villains come into this game on the back of a 2-0 away defeat to West Ham United that left them 10 points adrift of safety at the bottom of the table.
Norwich on the precipice
A run of four straight defeats has left Norwich staring into the relegation abyss with 14 games left to play in the league. The Premier League newcomers have managed to keep their head above water for most of the season but their current form will be a worry for boss Alex Neil.
Away from home, they have lost seven out of their last eight, the only exception being the 2-1 win at Old Trafford back in December. They come into this game on the back of a 0-3 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. Thanks to other results, they retained their two-point cushion over the third-from-bottom Newcastle.
Team news
The home side will be without Adama Traore and Jordan Amavi, while several players will face late fitness tests including Ashley Westwood, Libor Kozak, Rudy Gestede, Carlos Sanchez and Alan Hutton.
Meanwhile, the visitors will be hoping that Robbie Brady and Graham Dorrans can recover from illness in time for this weekend`s clash.
