Premier League preview and odds: Manchester City vs Leicester City
February 6, 2016 12:45pm - The Etihad Stadium
Premier League
The top two teams in the Barclays Premier League will battle it out for supremacy on Saturday lunchtime as title-favourites Manchester City welcome dark horses Leicester City to the Etihad Stadium.
City can return to top
Manchester City can take the initiative in the title race on Saturday by beating league leaders Leicester City. Manuel Pellegrini`s men are three points behind their rivals but have a superior goal difference - a win would put them back on top of the pile.
In their last fixture, the Sky Blues bagged all three points with a narrow win (1-0) at Sunderland. On home soil, they are unbeaten in five and have won nine out of their 12 games played at the Etihad this term.
Now that it has been confirmed that Manuel Pellegrini will be stepping down in the summer, the Chilean boss will be keen to finish his spell at City on a high note by bagging his second Premier League title.
Leicester in pole position
Leicester City may now feel that they have genuine shot at the title, but whatever happens from now until the end of the season, it has been one hell of a ride for Claudio Ranieri and his men. The Foxes can further their cause significantly by taking something from their visit to the Etihad Stadium where they will face their main rivals in the race for the top prize.
In their last game, they stunned Liverpool with two great counter-attacking moves to bag yet another home win and maintain their gap at the top of the table.
With a an away trip to the Emirates coming up next, the next two weeks could be significant in shaping the rest of the season for the East Midland side.
Team news
The home side will be without the injured group of Jesus Navas, Kevin de Bruyne, Vincent Kompany and Samir Nasri, while Wilfried Bony and Fabian Delph both remain doubtful. Meanwhile, the visitors will be Matt James and Jeff Schlupp for the trip to the North West.
