Premier League preview and odds: Newcastle United vs West Bromwich Albion
February 6, 2016 15:00pm - St JamesÂ’ Park
Premier League
Newcastle United can give their Premier League survival hopes a massive boost on Saturday with a win over a West Brom side that are still aiming for a top-half finish.
Newcastle banking on good home form
Newcastle have lost just two of their last nine home games, and will be hoping to pick up more points this weekend. They are currently sat in 18th place, just two points away from safety. A win this weekend could lift Steve McClaren`s men out of the bottom three if other results go their way.
The Magpies come into this game on the back of a pair of away defeats to Everton (3-0) and Watford (1-0). In their last home game, they bagged an impressive 2-1 win over West Ham United.
Baggies winless in four
West Brom have won just two of their last 11 league games and are winless in the last four. As a result, they currently sit in 14th place in the table, eight points clear of the drop zone.
Away from home, the Baggies have not won any of their last six, having drawn three and lost three. They come into this game on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Swansea City.
Team news
The home side still top the injury list and will be without Paul Dummett, Chancel Mbemba, Vurnon Anita, Massadio Haidara, while Siem De Jong and Kevin Mbabu are both doubts.
Meanwhile, Tony Pulis will have to make do without Jonny Evans, James Morrison, Callum McManaman and Chris Brunt.
