Premier League preview and odds: Hull City vs Liverpool

February 04 , 2017 15:00pm - KCOM Stadium

Premier League

Hull City will look to give their survival hopes a boost this weekend when they welcome fourth-ranked Liverpool to the KCOM stadium. Meanwhile, a win for the visitors would keep their title ambitions alive.

Hull City still in the danger

Hull City have certainly shown signs of improvement since new boss Marco Silva arrived at the KCOM Stadium. A 3-1 win at home to Bournemouth was followed by an impressive display in the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea and a well-deserved 0-0 at Old Trafford. Things will not get any easier for the Tigers this weekend when they take on the fourth-ranked team in the league.

The team from East Yorkshire have lost just one of their last six matches at home in the league, with two wins and three draws making up the rest. That sole defeat came against fifth-ranked Manchester City on Boxing Day. However, they have yet to keep a clean sheet at home and have conceded first in 75% of their matches.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will travel along the M62 buoyed by their strong performance against Chelsea last weekend. The Reds had been suffering from a slight loss of form but put in a solid display to restrict the league leaders to a point.

With Sadio Mane and a fit Philippe Coutinho both back in the squad, Jurgen Klopp should be able to field a full-strength XI for this clash. The team from Merseyside have scored in each of their last 11 matches and in eight of their last nine away from home.

Team news

The home side will once again be hampered by injuries with Curtis Davies (hamstring strain), Ryan Mason (fractured skull), Markus Henriksen (dislocated shoulder), Will Keane (knee), Greg Luer (cartilage), Brian Lenihan (knee) and Moses Odubajo (MPFL injury) all out of action, while Ahmed Elmohamady has been away on international duty and Michael Dawson is a doubt.

Meanwhile, Oviemuno Ejaria (ankle sprain), Marko Grujic (tendon injury), Adam Bogdan (ACL) and Danny Ings (meniscus tear) are all unavailable for the visitors..

Betting odds and tips

Hull have improved but Klopp`s men are back to full strength and should have enough quality to edge this one.

The Tigers have scored nine goals in their last five home games, while the Reds have bagged 10 in their last five away games.

You can back Over 2.5 Goals at 8/11 with Bet365 or Liverpool/Over 2.5 Goals at 13/10.
