Premier League preview and odds: Tottenham Hotspur vs Middlesbrough
February 04 , 2017 17:30pm - White Hart Lane
Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur will seek to extend their unbeaten run to nine games, while also keeping their title challenge on track when they welcome newly-promoted Middlesbrough to White Hart lane on Saturday evening.
Spurs still unbeaten at home
Tottenham Hotspur will be defending an 11-game unbeaten record on Saturday as they go in search of their seventh league win in a row on home soil. In the last 12 months, only Southampton have taken all three points from White Hart Lane, and the last team to come away from North London with a point were Leicester City back in October.
Mauricio Pochettino`s men are currently lying in second place but that may have changed by the time they kick off on Saturday evening. Either way, a win would keep them in the hunt for the coveted Premier league title.
Meanwhile, Middlesbrough will continue their quest for Premier League survival. The northeast club are winless in six but they have drawn three of their last four to keep themselves out of the drop zone.
Away from home, they have scored just once in their last three matches and have picked up just a single point in that spell. Their only win on the road cam at Sunderland (1-2) back in august.
Team news
The home side will be without the injured group of Danny Rose (knee), Georges-Kevin N`Koudou (knee), Kieran Trippier (knock), Jan Vertonghen (ankle ligament) and Erik Lamela (hip), while Hugo Lloris remains a doubt through illness.
Meanwhile, the visitors will be hampered by the absence of George Friend (muscular), Calum Chambers (ankle) and Gaston Ramirez (knee).
