Premier League preview and odds: West Bromwich Albion vs Stoke City
February 04 , 2017 15:00pm - The Hawthorns
Premier League
The eighth and ninth-ranked teams in the Premier League will go head-to-head this weekend when West Bromwich Albion host fellows Midland side Stoke City at the Hawthorns.
Five wins in last six at home for West Bromwich Albion
West Bromwich Albion can keep the pressure on seventh-ranked Everton by bagging their sixth home win in seven games this weekend. Tony Pulis` men have been fine form on home soil, having picked up 15 out of a possible 18 points since the end of October.
The Baggies come into this game on the back of 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough in midweek. Last weekend, they eased to a 2-0 win over rock-bottom Sunderland.
Meanwhile, Stoke City have also been in good shape, having gone unbeaten in their last four Premier League outings. Away from home, the Potters` record has not been so great with three defeats in their last four, their only win coming on their last road trip against struggling Sunderland. Since then, they have played out back-to-back 1-1 draws at home to Manchester United and Everton.
Mark Hughes` men have managed to score in each of their last 7 matches and they have found the net in all but one of their away matches, including their last nine in a row.
Team news
Brendan Galloway (knock) and Jonny Evans (calf strain) will be missing for the home side.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Walters (knee inflammation), Geoff Cameron (knee), Jack Butland (ankle), Stephen Ireland (double leg fracture) and Ramadan Sobhi (AFCON) make up the list of absentees for the visitors.
Recent form (League)
West Bromwich Albion: DWLWW
Stoke City: DDWWL
Betting odds and tips
The home side have become quite a goal threat on home soil in recent weeks, while Stoke`s last four away matches have all produced four goals or more.
As a result, the Over 2.5 Goals bet seems like a sensible choice.
