Premier League preview and odds: Chelsea vs Stoke City
March 05, 2016 15:00pm - Stamford Bridge
Premier League
Ever-improving Chelsea will seek to continue their steady ascent of the Premier League table when they square up against European hopefuls Stoke City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Chelsea`s unbeaten run continues
Chelsea extended their unbeaten run to 12 games with victory away to Norwich City in midweek. It was the third win in row for the Blues - the first time they have achieved that feat since April 2015.
The Londoners have yet to lose a league game since Guus Hiddink arrived as Jose Mourinho`s replacement back in December. Prior to his appointment, they had lost nine out of their last 16 games.
Stoke with outside chance of Euro place
A run of three straight victories, has given Stoke City an outside chance of qualifying for Europe. The Potters are currently sat in seventh place, five points behind fourth-ranked Manchester City and four points adrift of fifth-ranked Manchester United.
Mark Hughes` men come into this game on the back of a 1-0 win over relegation candidates Newcastle United. Prior to that, they bagged all three points with a 2-1 win against bottom club Aston Villa, also on home soil.
The Staffordshire club also won their last away game at Bournemouth (1-3). That victory broke a run of three straight away defeats.
Team news
The reigning champions are still without Pedro Rodriguez, Kurt Zouma and Radamel Falcao, while John Terry remains a doubt.
Meanwhile, the visitors will have to perform without Glen Johnson, Marc Wilson and Charlie Adam, who are all crocked.
