Premier League preview and odds: Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal
March 05, 2016 13:45pm - White Hart Lane
Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur missed the chance to go top of the Premier League in midweek, while North London neighbours Arsenal failed to take advantage of their rival`s slip-up. Both sides will be out to make amends when they go head-to-head at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Spurs fail to reach summit
When Leicester City drew with West Brom on Tuesday night, it was widely expected that they would lose top spot in the Premier League to Tottenham Hotspur, who were in action the following evening. Unfortunately the London side could not capitalise and fell to a 1-0 defeat away to West Ham - their first defeat on the road since August.
Mauricio Pochettino`s men are now three points behind the surprise league leaders, and three points above their arch-rivals who they face on Saturday. They have won their last three home games in a row, and have not drawn any of their last eight games. When the teams met at the Emirates back in November, they played out a 1-1 draw.
Home slip-up for Gunners
After losing away to Manchester United at the weekend, Arsenal once again failed to make any ground in the title race when they fell 2-1 at home to relegation-battlers Swansea City on Wednesday night. With Leicester City and Tottenham both dropping points, that result will be seen as a missed opportunity for Arsene Wenger`s men.
The Gunners can at least draw level on points with their North London rivals when they meet at White Hart Lane on Saturday lunchtime. However, they have won just one of their last five away games in the league. With a six-point gap between them and the leaders, anything other than a win could put pay to their title ambitions.
Team news
Spurs are still without the injured duo of Jan Vertonghen and Clinton N`Jie.
Meanwhile, the visitors will be without Laurent Koscielny, Petr Cech, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosciky, Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere.

Betting odds and tips
Spurs` defeat at West Ham was not a total surprise, - the Hammers have not been beaten at home since August. Arsenal`s slip-up was much more significant and marked the third defeat in a row in all competitions for the Gunners.
