Premier League preview and odds: Liverpool vs Arsenal
March 04, 2017 17:30 pm - Anfield
Premier League
Liverpool, who were beaten away to Leicester City last time out, host an Arsenal side who are sat just one point and one place above them in the Premier League table.
Liverpool bid to leapfrog rivals
Last week`s 1-3 defeat away to a seemingly stricken Leicester City side last week sent some alarm bells ringing on Merseyside. Jurgen Klopp`s men have now won just one of their last seven matches in the Premier League and have dropped out of the top four as a result. However, a win against Arsenal would launch them back into the Champions League qualifying places and resuscitate their flagging campaign.
The Reds have scored in all but one of their home games and with Arsenal unlikely to sit back and defend, there should be plenty of attacking opportunities for the home side.
Gunners looking to avoid second Reds defeat
Arsenal were stunned by Liverpool`s cavalier approach in the opening game of the season when the Anfield side ran out 4-3 winners at the Emirates Stadium. With both sides very set in their ways when it comes to their attacking style of play, another high-scoring game should be expected.
The Gunners have scored in each of their last 16 matches and in all but one of their away games, including the last 11 in a row. What`s more, 75% of their away matches have produced over 2.5 goals scored. However, the North Londoners come into this game having won just one of their last five away matches.
Team news
The home side will have to make do without Oviemuno Ejaria (ankle sprain), Marko Grujic (hamstring strain) and Danny Ings (meniscus tear), while Jordan Henderson (foot), Daniel Sturridge (illness) and Dejan Lovren (knee) are all still doubtful.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Elneny (ankle), Aaron Ramsey (calf strain) and Santi Cazorla (Achilles) are all expected to miss out for the visitors, while Mesut Ozil (illness) and Laurent Koscielny (hamstring strain) are both doubts.

Betting odds and tips
Both sides will be desperate for a win to keep their top four ambitions on track so a high tempo, end-to-end clash can be expected. Five of the last six games between these two have produced more than four goals and a similar outcome can be expected this weekend.
Given that Liverpool tend to struggle against teams that park the bus, this game should provide a refreshing change for Klopps men. The question remains as to whether they can outscore the visitors on their own patch.
