Premier League preview and odds: Tottenham Hotspur vs Everton
March 05, 2017 13:30 pm - White Hart Lane
Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur will look to retain their second-ranked status in the Premier League when they host an Everton side who are unbeaten in nine.
Spurs hanging on to faint title hopes
Tottenham may be 10 points adrift of league leaders Chelsea but they havent given up on the Premier League title just yet. However, with just 12 games left to play, they may need to out in a perfect run-in while hoping that Chelsea suffer a major blip if they are to stand any chance of chasing down the pace setters. What`s more, Maurico Pochettino`s men are only four points ahead of fifth place Liverpool, so they may still face a battle to secure a top four spot.
With things so tight in the race for Champions League places, the North Londoners will want to maintain their impressive home form when they host Everton on Sunday. They have won their last eight home matches in a row and are unbeaten at White Hart Lane in the league this term, with only Liverpool and Leicester City coming away with a point.
The Lilywhites have scored at least one goal in all of their home matches this term and have not conceded in any of their last four.
European qualification still a target for Toffees
Meanwhile, Everton are also in good shape, having gone nine games without defeat in the Premier League. Away from home they are unbeaten in five, having won two and drawn three. The Toffees have been drawing at halftime in nine of their away matches this season.
No team in the league has gained more points over the last eight games than Ronald Koeman`s men and if they maintain their current pace they could still grab a European qualification spot.
Team news
Erik Lamela (groin) and Danny Rose (knee) will both be missing for the home side, while Harry Kane (knock), Jan Vertonghen (ankle) and Toby Alderweireld (tight groin) are all doubts.
Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without the services of Yannick Bolasie (knee) and Muhamed Besic (knee ligament), while Dominic Calvert-Lewin has an ankle issue and remains a doubt.

Betting odds and tips
Spurs are imperious at home and 11 teams have already left White Hart Lane empty-handed this term including Chelsea and Manchester City. Remarkably, they have yet to concede a league goal at home in 2017.
Meanwhile, Everton have won just two of their last 11 on the road but they have avoided defeat in their last five. Despite their slight improvement on the road, the Toffees have not shown enough to suggest that they can be the team to break the host`s unbeaten record.
