Manchester United vs Everton - Premier League preview and odds

April 04, 2017 20:00pm - Old Trafford

Premier League

Manchester United will bid to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 20 games when they square up to an Everton side who are winless in four on the road.

Top four still a target for Mourinho

Manchester United`s quest for a top four finish suffered a blow last time out when they were held 0-0 at home by West Bromwich Albion. As result, they must now rely other teams slipping up if they are to finish the season in the ChampionsÂ’ League places.

Jose Mourinho`s men have not been beaten in 19 Premier League matches but with nine of those matches drawn, they have struggled to haul in the teams above them. On home soil, they have drawn eight of their last 12 matches and four of their last five.

Meanwhile, Everton will be looking to bounce back from Saturday`s disappointing derby defeat to Liverpool. The Toffees never looked like taking anything from that game as they continue to struggle away from Goodison Park.

Ronald Koeman`s men have won just two of their last 13 matches on the road, a record that is unacceptable for a team that started the season with top four ambitions. They now look all set to finish in seventh place in the table, with West Brom currently six points behind them.

Team news

Juan Mata (groin surgery), Phil Jones (toe) and Chris Smalling (knee) are all out of action for the home side, while Paul Pogba (hamstring) remains a doubt.

Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without Ramiro Funes Mori (knee), Seamus Coleman (double leg fracture), Morgan Schneiderlin (calf), James McCarthy (hamstring strain), Yannick Bolasie (knee) and Muhamed Besic (knee ligament).

Betting odds and tips

Manchester United are unbeaten in 13 at home but they have only won five of those matches. Ten of those games would have paid out in the Under 2.5 Goals market and that looks like the choice bet here.
