Premier League preview and odds: Burnley vs Stoke City
April 04, 2017 19:45pm - Turf Moor
Premier League
Two teams short on form will battle it out on Tuesday night as 15th-ranked Burnley take on ninth-ranked Stoke City at Turf Moor.
Burnley bidding to avoid relegation battle
A run of seven games without a win has left Burnley just five points above the drop zone with eight games left to play. In their defence, five of those games were played away from home and the two homes games were against the top two teams in the league (a 1-1 draw with Chelsea and a 0-2 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur).
Sean Dyche`s men will be hoping to get their home form back on track when they face a side who havent won or even scored a goal in any of their last five Premier League away matches.
With a total on 36 points on the board, Stoke City are unlikely to get drawn into danger but their recent run of form will still be a concern for boss Mark Hughes. Having finished ninth in the last three seasons, anything less than that benchmark will be seen as regression for the Midland side.
The Potters come into this game on the back of a 2-0 defeat at Leicester City last time out. There only away goals of 2017 came at Bottom-ranked Sunderland back in January.
Team news
Johann Gudmundsson (knee), Dean Marney (ACL) and Kevin Long (knee surgery) are all out of action for the home side.
Meanwhile, Jack Butland (ankle) and Stephen Ireland (double leg fracture) will be missing for the visitors, while Peter Crouch (knee), Jonathan Walters (knock), Geoff Cameron (thigh) and Xherdan Shaqiri (calf strain) are all on the doubtful list.

Stoke City: LLDWL
Betting odds and tips
Seven of Burnley home games have been 0-0 at half time and with Stoke`s recent inability to score on the road, that bet looks tempting.
