Premier League preview and odds: Everton vs Crystal Palace

December 7, 2015 20:00pm - Goodison Park

Premier League

Everton are unbeaten in four and must now face a Crystal Palace side just one point above them in the Premier League table at Goodison Park on Monday night.

Eight points from a possible 12 for Toffees

Everton have won two and drawn two of their last four games to leave them securely positioned at ninth place in the table. In their last two home games, they managed to score a total of 10 goals against league strugglers Aston Villa and Sunderland.

A win on Monday would keep Everton firmly in the hunt for the European qualification places while a defeat could see them drop into the bottom half of the table. Their opponents are currently just one point above them in the table.

Roberto Martinez`s men come into this game on the back of a dramatic 3-3 draw against Bournemouth in which they appeared to have secured all three points until Bournemouth grabbed a last-gasp leveller.

Palace targeting Merseyside double

The last time Alan Pardew visited Merseyside, his team came away with all the spoils after condemning Jurgen Klopp to his first defeat as Liverpool boss. The Eagles will be hoping for a similar result when they visit the blue side of Stanley Park on Monday night.

Palace have won four of their six games on the road this season but have yet to be involved in a draw away from home. They come into this game on the back of a 5-1 demolition of Newcastle team devoid of any confidence. A win could put the South Londoners back in the hunt for the European places.

Team news

Bryan Oviedo and James McCarthy could both feature in Roberto Martinez’s plans, however, Phil Jagielka and Tony Hibbert are still injured.

Meanwhile, Dwight Gayle could be in contention for Palace, while Bakary Sako and Kwesi Appiah are still unavailable.

Betting odds and tips

This game is a tough one to call Palace are strong away but Everton are in good form at home. However, in the goal scorer market, Romelu Lukaku is good value to score anytime at 11/8 with Betfair.
