Everton vs Manchester City - Premier League Preview and Odds
February 06, 2019 20:00pm - Goodison Park
Premier League
Manchester City can move back to the top of the Premier League with a win over ninth-ranked Everton on Wednesday night.
With a cup final coming up in a couple of weeks, the Citizens next Premier League game has been brought forward and gives them a chance to leapfrog title rivals Liverpool - on a temporary basis at least.
With the Reds failing to take all three points from West Ham on Monday night, the gap at the top has been reduced to just three points with City having the better goal difference.
Pep Guardiola`s men have lost three of their last five away game including a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle last time out, so there is some hope for their hosts.
Everton have not been in great form and kick off in ninth place just a point above 12th-ranked West Ham United. Any hopesĀ” of grabbing a European place this term has been shattered by some poor form in the winter.
The Toffees have won just three of their last 12 Premier League matches and just one of their last six at home. They are currently 26 points behind their opponents with 13 games of the season still to play.
Their misery is compounded by the fact that any positive result here could help their arch rivals Liverpool in their quest for a first Premier League title in 29 years.

Betting odds and tips
There is nothing in Everton`s recent form to suggest they are capable of getting a result here. However, they have scored in all but one of their home games this term, while City have conceded in five of their last six aways. As a result, we expect both teams to score with City coming out on top.
You can back Manchester City/Both Teams to Score at 8/5.
