Premier League preview and odds: Aston Villa vs AFC Bournemouth
April 09, 2016 15:00pm - Villa Park
Premier League
Aston Villa could officially be relegated from the Premier League this weekend if they fail to beat visitors AFC Bournemouth at Villa Park. A matter of time for Villa
It is now just a matter of time before Aston Villa`s relegation from the Barclays Premier League is mathematically confirmed. The club are already 15 points from safety with just six games left to play, and they also have the worst goal difference in the division by a significant margin.
The Claret and Blues have lost eight of their last nine league matches and are now without a manager following the departure of Remi Garde. They come into this game on the back of a 0-4 defeat at home to Chelsea.
Bournemouth aiming to break 40-point barrier
Just like Aston Villa`s relegation fate - AFC Bournemouth`s Premier League survival is just waiting to be confirmed. The South Coast club are currently 11 points clear of the drop zone with six games left to play.
The Cherry`s current total of 38 points has a historical survival probability of 71.4%. A win on Saturday would put them on 41 points and increase their chances of remaining in the league to 98.7%.
Since reaching the 38 point mark, Eddie Howe`s men have lost back-to-back games against Tottenham and Manchester City without scoring a goal.
Team news
The home side will continue without the injured pair of Libor Kozak and Jordan Amavi.
Meanwhile, Adam Smith, Benik Afobe, Tokelo Rantie, Callum Wilson and Tyrone Mings are all out injured for the South Coast side, while Harry Arter and Junior Stanislas are both doubtful.
