Just seven runners will line up for this race with Dartmouth leading the way in the early betting. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained colt will carry an extra 3lb thanks to a dominant performance over this distance at Chelmsford last time out.

Father Christmas has yet to show us what he is made of in 2016 but the O`Brien-trained colt finished last year with a respectable third place in a Group 2 race at Royal Ascot. However, he has yet to cover this distance and was a bit one-paced during the final furlong of that slightly shorter race.

The Tom Dascombe-trained Cymro was impressive when riding off top weight in his first outing of the season at Thirsk. The grey gelding also happens to be the only horse to have a course victory under his belt.

Betting odds and tips

It is a close call between Dartmouth, Father Christmas and Cymro but the Tom Dascombe horse just gets our vote, and also offers the best value.
