Premier League
Hull City will look to break a run of six straight Premier League defeats when they welcome ninth-ranked Southampton to the KCOM Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Hapless Hull winless in eight
Hull City`s bright start to the current Premier League campaign proved to be something of a false dawn. Since winning back-to-back games at home to Leicester City and away to Swansea City, the newly-promoted side have gone eight games without a win, having lost seven and drawn one.
On home soil, the Tigers have only scored one goal since the opening day but have shipped nine at the other end. Recently-appointed boss Mike Phelan has seen his side slip from joint-top after game week two to 18th in the Premier League table. They have the worst form of any team in the league over the last six games.
Meanwhile, opponents Southampton have lost just one of their last six Premier League matches (a 0-2 defeat to Chelsea last time out) and come into this game on the back of a 2-1 Europa League win over Inter Milan.
Claude Puel`s men are unbeaten in three away matches in the league, having won at West Ham United before playing out back-to-back draws at reigning champions Leicester City and league leaders Manchester City.
So far this term, 70% of the Saints` matches have produced under 2.5 goals and 73% of their goals have been scored in the second half.
Team news
Hull City could welcome back Robert Snodgrass and Dieumerci Mbokani, while Moses Odubajo (knee), Andrew Robertson (calf), Greg Luer (knee) and Alex Bruce (Achilles) are all still out of action.
Meanwhile, the visitors will continue without the services of Alex McCarthy (hamstring), Shane Long (hamstring), Matt Targett (hanstring), Cedric Soares (foot) and Jeremy Pied (knee).

Betting odds and tips
It is hard to make a case for Hull City in this game. They have conceded in every home game this season but have only scored in one of their last four at the KCOM. They have lost their last six games in a row and are winless in eight. Even bottom of the table Sunderland have a better record over the last six games.
Southampton fell to Chelsea last time out but their overall form has been good. Their three defeats this term have all come against pre-season title contenders and they managed a 1-1 draw at Manchester City in their last away game.
