Serie A preview and odds: Atalanta vs Palermo
December 06, 2015 14:00pm - Stadio Atleti Azzurri dItalia
Serie A
Two teams looking for some consistency in Serie A will go head-to-head on Sunday as ninth-ranked Atalanta take on relegation candidates Palermo at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri dItalia.
Atalanta boosted by Roma win
Following a three-game winless streak that featured a goalless draw with Milan sandwiched between defeats to Torino and Bologna, Atalanta got back to winning ways with a shock win over Roma last week. That victory was their sixth of the season and lifted them back up to ninth place in the table. However, they come into this game on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Udinese in the midweek Coppa Italia game.
Edoardo Rejas side are currently six points adrift of the coveted European places and could easily find themselves back in contention with a couple of positive results.
Palermo struggling to find form
After starting the season with back-to-back wins, things have not gone quite so well for Palermo. The Sicilian club have won just two of their last 12 games having drawn two and lost eight and are currently languishing in 16th place in the table.
They come into this game on the back of a 0-3 home defeat to reigning champions Juventus and a midweek cup exit at the hands of Alessandria. The Rosanero are just two points above the drop zone and could finish the weekend in the bottom three if results do not go their way.
Team news
Atalanta will be without the injured trio of Boukary Drame, Rafael Toloi, and Mauricio Pinilla, while Guglielmo Stendardo and Alberto Grassi are both suspended.
The visitors will have to make do without front man Uros Djurdjevic and right-back Roberto Vitiello, while Aljaz Struna is suspended.
