Premier League preview and odds: Crystal Palace vs Liverpool
March 06, 2016 13:30pm - Selhurst Park
Premier League
Crystal Palace will go in search of their first Premier League win in 11 games on Sunday, when they welcome a Liverpool side who have scored nine goals without reply in their last two games to Selhurst Park.
Two points in 2016 for Palace
Crystal Palace have not won a Premier League match since December 19, and have lost four in a row on home soil. In 2016, they have added just two points to their tally, and have fallen from fifth to 15th in the league table.
Even when taking into account injuries, and the fact that Palace were probably over-achieving, the collapse has been remarkable. Critics will point to a similar cycle of boom and bust that occurred during boss Alan Pardew`s tenure at Newcastle United.
Last time out, Palace picked up a point on the road to relegation-threatened Sunderland. They must now face a team that seems to be finding some form and has scored nine goals in their last two league matches.
Liverpool respond after Cup final heartbreak
Liverpool responded to the disappoint of losing the Capital One Cup final on penalties to Manchester City, by putting the same opponents to the sword in their mid-week league match at Anfield
It was not just the fact that Jurgen Klopps men beat City 3-0 but also the way in which they did it. The Reds were totally dominant throughout and could have won by a higher margin. A win on Sunday would put them back in the hunt for European places with 10 games left to play.
Team news
The home side will be without James McArthur, Jason Puncheon and Kwesi Appiah.
Meawhile, Lucas Leiva, Kevin Stewart, Danny Ings and Joe Gomez are all still missing for the Merseyside team.
