Manchester City continue to play catch-up to league leaders Liverpool who have yet to drop a point in the Premier League. The Citizens kick-off eight points adrift making this a must-win game in their quest to defend their title. Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers will hope to spring a surprise as they attempt to pull clear of the drop zone.

Pep Guardiola`s men bounced back from their defeat at Norwich City with an 8-0 demolition of Watford and a 3-1 win at Everton. They also recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday.

On home soil, they have not lost a Premier League match in 2019, their last defeat coming against Crystal Palace back in December, and they have only drawn one game since then.

Wolverhampton Wanderers were the surprise package of last season but endured a torrid start to the new campaign, failing to win any of their first six matches and slipping into the drop zone. However, a win against Watford last week saw them rise to out of the bottom three.

Nuno`s men followed up that win with an impressive 1-0 win away to Besiktas in the Europa League on Thursday night and will arrive in Manchester in confident mood.

The Midlands side have not won a competitive match against the Sky Blues since 2010 and have lost on their last five visits to the Etihad.

Betting odds and tips

The home win looks like the most probable outcome but there is little value to be had. However, Wolves seem to be finding some form and the draw might tempt a few punters with prices of 8/1 or more available.

A better option could be to look at the Total Goals market. Manchester City`s last eight league matches have produced four goals or more and Over 3.5 Goals can be backed at Evens or better.
