Premier League preview and odds: Stoke City vs. Chelsea
November 7, 2015 17:30pm - Britannia Stadium
Premier League
The Premier Leagues worst goal scorers will welcome one of the weakest defences to the Britannia Stadium on Saturday as Stoke take on Chelsea in the evening kick-off.
Stoke stumble after positive run
Stokes fortunes seemed to be on the up after their recent three-game winning run, but a subsequent loss at home to Watford and a draw away to Newcastle has seen them slip back down to 14th place in the table. They now have a chance to redeem themselves against a Chelsea side that has won just one of their last five Premier League games.
This will be the sixth game in a row that the Potters have squared up to opposition in the bottom half of the table, a run of games that will come to an end when they travel to Southampton next week. They have won three and drawn one of those games so far and a point or more on Saturday should complete a satisfying haul for Mark Hughess men.
In the last game against Newcastle, Stoke once again failed to find the net and remain the leagues worst goal scorers with a paltry total of nine goals scored in 11 games. This weekend they face a defensive line-up that has conceded a staggering 22 goals this term
Blues slump continues
When Chelsea took the lead early on in their home match against Jurgen Klopps Liverpool last week, there was a brief feeling that normal service had been resumed. However, that notion was short-lived as the visitors proceeded to dominate the rest of the game and cruised to a 3-1 victory.
That result, and Jose Mourinhos subsequent comments, made it clear that all is still not well at Stamford Bridge, and with over a quarter of the season already gone, it could be too late for the Londoners to salvage much from this campaign.
A solitary win over a struggling Aston Villa side in their last five games does not bode well for the trip to Stoke. However, they may be buoyed by the fact that Mark Hughes men have only won one game on home soil this season.
Team news
Stoke will be without the crocked Spaniard Marc Muniesa but could welcome back American defender Geoff Cameron from injury. Meanwhile, Chelsea are still without the injured trio of Pedro, Falcao and Thibaut Courtois.

Betting odds and tips
All of Chelseas away games this season have resulted in Over 2.5 goals and the Blues have conceded at least twice in every one of those games. That result can be backed at 21/20 with Bet365. With that in mind, the Both Teams to Score bet should also be considered at 5/6, also with Bet365.
