Premier League preview and odds: Aston Villa vs. Man City
November 8, 2015 13:30pm - Villa Park
Premier League
Its bottom versus top at Villa Park on Sunday as serial losers Aston Villa take on title favourites Man City in the Barclays Premier League.
A new chapter begins for Villa
New boss Remi Garde faces a baptism of fire in front of the Villa faithful as his prepares his team to face league leaders Manchester City on Sunday lunchtime. The Villains enter this game on the back of seven straight league defeats and a winless run of 10 games that stretches back to the opening day of the season. In their most recent outing they were comfortably beaten 3-1 by Tottenham at white Hart Lane - although the new boss had little opportunity to work with his players before that game kicked off on Monday night.
The good news for the Frenchman is that Villa are still just four points from safety with 27 games remaining in which to turn things around.
City starting to dominate again
Manchester City have won 14 of their last 17 games in the Premier League and are currently on an unbeaten run of four games. The back-to-back defeats against West Ham and Tottenham and the draw at Old Trafford are the only blemishes on their record this season.
However, it has not been an easy ride for Manuel Pellegrinis men as last weeks narrow win against Norwich proved. In the end it took a late penalty for the Citizens to finally overcome a resilient performance from the Canaries.
Team news
Remi Garde will be boosted by the fact that he has the luxury of a full squad to choose from.
Meanwhile, the vistors are still without a host of top names including the injured quartet of Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Samir Nasri and Pablo Zabaleta.
