La Liga preview and odds: Real Madrid vs Deportivo La Coruna
January 09, 2016 19:30pm - Estadio Santiago Bernabeu
La Liga
Real Madrid will begin life under new boss Zinedine Zidane on Saturday, with a tricky game on home soil against Deportivo La Coruna at the Bernabeu.
Yet another new boss at the Bernabeu
Just weeks after giving Rafa Benitez his full backing, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has disposed of the former Liverpool boss and unveiled former star player Zinedine Zidane as his replacement.
The appointment has appeased both players and fans alike but as always, the proof will be in the results, and the former French international will need to hit the ground running at the Bernabeu. His first task will be to overcome a seventh-ranked Deportivo side who have lost just twice in their last 14 La Liga fixtures.
In their last game, Los Blancos played out a 2-2 draw away to Valencia and missed the chance to close the gap on their title rivals. Prior to that, they enjoyed back-to-back home wins against Real Sociedad (3-1) and Rayo Vallecano (10-2).
Depor the draw specialists
With a total of nine stalemates, no team in La Liga has drawn more games than Deportivo La Coruña. Away from home, they have drawn three of the last four, having won the other, and are unbeaten since October, when they lost their one and only away game to Malaga by a single goal.
In their last match, they were beaten for only the third time this season when they fell 1-2 at home to fourth-ranked Villarreal.
Team news
The home side will be without the suspended Mateo Kovacic, while Dani Carvajal, Denis Cheryshev and Alvaro Arbeloa are all out with various injury issues.
Meanwhile, the visitors will have to cope without the services of Cani, Fabricio and Celso Borges for the trip tomthe capital.

Betting odds and tips
Deportivo have drawn three of their last four on the road including a 2-2 stalemate against Barcelona at the Camp Nou. They have only lost three times all season and are capable of causing problems for Zidane in his first game in charge. The draw can be backed at a huge 10/1 with BetVictor.
