Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Brighton & Hove Albion - Premier League Preview and Odds
March 03, 2020 17:30pm - Molineux Stadium (Wolverhampton)
Premier League
Two teams involved in battles at opposite ends of the table will go head to head on Saturday afternoon as Champions League hopefuls Wolverhampton Wanderers host relegation battlers Brighton and Hove Albion at the Molineux stadium.
After a slow start to the campaign, Wolves have emerged as genuine contenders for a Champions League spot. They currently sit in sixth place just three points behind fourth-ranked Chelsea with just goal difference separating them from fifth-ranked Manchester United. However, there are at least five clubs in with a chance of claiming fourth place.
The prospect of Manchester City`s expulsion from the competition (subject to appeal) could also open the door for the team that finishes fifth.
Only Liverpool have lost fewer games (6) than Nuno`s men, while only Arsenal have drawn more (12). The Midland side come into this match unbeaten in four having drawn away to Manchester United and at home to Leicester City, and won at home to Norwich and away to Tottenham Hotspur. On home soil, only Liverpool have beaten them in 2020 and they haven`t lost to a team outside of the current top seven.
Meanwhile, a run of just one win in 14 games and none in their last nine has left Brighton and Hove Albion hovering just a point above the drop zone. However, they have drawn three of their last four and have a massive goal difference advantage over their direct rivals.
The Seagull`s drew their last two Premier League away matches 3-3 (at West Ham United) and 1-1 (at Sheffield United) and would probably take a point from this game if it was offered. Since winning at Watford on the opening day, they have only beaten Arsenal on the road.
Predicted line-ups:
Wolverhampton Wanderers: Patricio Boly, Coady, Saiss Doherty, Neves, Moutinho, Vinagre Neto, Jimenez, Jota
Brighton & Hove Albion: Ryan Montoya, Webster, Dunk, Burn Propper, Stephens Mooy, Gross, Trossard Maupay
Recent Form (League)
Wolverhampton Wanderers: WWDDL
Brighton & Hove Albion: LDDDL
Betting odds and tips
Wolves have drawn 12 of their 28 games this term including two of the last four at home, while Brighton have drawn three of their last four. With both teams facing different kinds of pressure, another stalemate should not be ruled out.
You can back the Draw at 3/1.
