Manchester City vs Hull City - Premier League preview and odds
April 08, 2017 15:00pm - Etihad Stadium
Premier League
Manchester City will continue their quest for a top four finish when they take on relegation battlers Hull City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Just one defeat at home all season for Manchester City
Despite failing to win any of their last four matches, Manchester City have managed to hang on to a place in the Premier League top four. Last time out, they were beaten 2-1 on the road at Chelsea, a result that effectively ruled them out of the title race.
Pep Guardiola has had a tough first term in the English top flight and his main objective now will be to secure Champions League football for his team next season. The Sky Blues have a four point gap over fifth-ranked Arsenal, although the Gunners do have a game in hand. As a result, any more slip ups could take City`s destiny out of their own hands.
The Citizens have scored at least one goal in 93% of their home matches and conceded at least one in 79% of them.
Meanwhile, Hull City will look to keep their heads above the relegation water by taking something away from this weekend`s clash. A run of three wins in their last four games has elevated the Tigers to 17th place in the table, two points clear of the drop zone.
Marco Silva`s men have picked up 17 points since the Portuguese Coach replaced Mike Phelan back in January. Over the course of a season, that form would comfortably secure a top half finish. However, the Yorkshire club have performed much better on home soil this term, having picked up 25 of their 30 points at the KCOM Stadium.
Team news
Bacary Sagna (Groin), Gabriel Jesus (Metatarsal) and Ilkay Gundogan (knee) will all be missing for the home side.
Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without Tom Huddlestone (suspended), Harry Maguire (knee), Abel Hernandez (Muscular), Omar Elabdellauoi (back), Ryan Mason (fractured skull), Will Keane (knee), Greg Luer (cartilage), Brian Lenihan (knee) and Moses Odubajo (MPFL), while Dieumerci Mbokani Bezua remains a doubt.

Betting odds and tips
Hull City are in great form at home but they do not travel well so the home side can be expected to take advantage with a win. The visitors have scored just once on their last five road trips so the hosts will stand a great chance of bagging a clean sheet.
