Tottenham Hotspur vs Watford - Premier League preview and odds
April 08, 2017 12:30pm - White Hart Lane
Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur will look to make it six wins on the bounce when welcome mid-table dwellers Watford to White Hart Lane on Saturday lunchtime.
Spurs not ready to quit title challenge
As the only team that can realistically catch league leaders Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur will be keen to extend their winning run to six games this weekend. The North Londoners will set out to win all of their remaining games, while hoping that their rivals from the Capital stumble on the home straight.
Mauricio Pochettino`s men have won their last 10 home matches in a row and are unbeaten at White Hart Lane in the league this season. What`s more, they have scored at least one goal in each of their last 22 matches at White Hart Lane.
Meanwhile, opponents Watford will make the short trip to London on the back of two-straight home wins in the league. Those victories have lifted the Hornets back into the top half of the table, nine points clear of the drop zone.
Away from home, Walter Mazzarri`s team have won just one of their last 10 matches (at Arsenal), having also drawn two and lost seven. A win on Saturday would keep them well in the hunt for ninth place, which is probably the highest position they can now hope to finish. However, they will once again be hampered by a huge injury list.
Team news
The home side will be missing Harry Winks, Harry Kane, Erik Lamela, Danny Rose, while Hugo Lloris and Victor Wanyama are both doubts.
Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without the suspended Miguel Britos and the injured group of Sebastyian Prodl, Younes Kaboul, Ben Watson, Mauro Zarate and Roberto Pereyra. There are also doubts surrounding the fitness of Heurelho Gomes, Etienne Capoue, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Tome Cleverly, Troy Deeney, Christian Kabasele and Valon Behrami.

Betting odds and tips
Spurs are unbeaten at home this season and have won their last 10 in a row, and Watford do not look like the team that is going to break that record. A comfortable home win can be expected.
