Premier League preview and odds: Crystal Palace vs Watford

February 13, 2016 15:00pm - Selhurst Park

Premier League

Crystal Palace and Watford will jostle for position in the middle of the Premier League table when the teams meet at Selhurst Park this Saturday.

Palace winless in eight

After briefly threatening the top five earlier in the season, Crystal Palace have little left to aim for except confirming their Premier League status for another year. A run of eight games without a win has put the brakes on any hope they may have had of grabbing a European place.

Last time out, the Eagles ended a run of five straight defeats by grabbing a point away from home at Swansea City. Alan Pardew`s men will now be attempting to end a run of three straight losses on home soil when Watford pay a visit to South London this weekend.

Watford close to achieving objective

Before the season began, Watford`s main objective was to stay in the Barclays Premier League. With just over a dozen games remaining, Quique Sanchez Flores` men are now within touching distance of their target. The Hertfordshire club are currently sat in 10th place on 33 points and although survival looks a certainty, they will be keen to reach the mytical 40 point barrier.

The Hornets come into this game on the back of a 0-1 defeat away to Tottenham Hotspur. Prior to that, they bagged four points from the visits of Chelsea (0-0) and Newcastle (2-1).

Team news

The home side will continue without Jason Puncheon, Joe Ledley, Dwight Gayle, Bakary Sako, Yannick Bolasie and James McArthur, while Kwesi Appiah remains a doubt.

Meanwhile, the visitors are without the suspended Mario Suarez, while Rene Gilmartin, Lloyd Doyley, Thomas Hoban and Joel Ekstrand are all out injured.
