La Liga preview and odds: Real Madrid vs Valencia
May 08, 2016 17:00pm - Estadio Santiago Bernabeu
La Liga
Real Madrid can ensure that the title race goes right down to the wire with a home win over ninth-ranked Valencia on Sunday.
Real Madrid
Thanks to Barcelona`s recent dip in form, Madrid`s biggest two teams are still right in the title race. While Atletico are level on points with the reigning champions from Catalonia, Real Madrid are just a point further back and must rely on their rivals slipping up if they are to snatch the crown.
With a Champions League final berth also secured, Los Blancos will be coming into their game full of confidence but wary of the fact that opponents Valencia scuppered their title hopes last year by drawing at the Bernabeu.
Zinedine Zidane`s men have won their last 10 games in a row and have lost fewer games than any other team in the league.
Valencia
Valencia`s four-game unbeaten streak was brought to an end by a 2-0 defeat at home to Europa League semi-finalists Villarreal last week. They will be looking to bounce back from that disappointing loss by taking something positive away from Madrid.
Los Che will be buoyed by the fact that their last away win came at similarly tricky location (Camp Nou), where they edged to a 2-1 win over the current league leaders.
When the two sides met at Mestalla earlier this term, the spoils were shared in a 2-2 draw. That was also the score-line when the teams met at the Bernabeu near the end of last year`s campaign.
Team news
The home side will be without a handful of key players including Gareth Bale, Dani Carvajal, Luka Modrić and Keylor Navas who are all injured.
Meanwhile for the visitors, Zakaria Bakkali and Denis Cheryshev will both sit this one out due to injuries.

Betting odds and tips
Valencia have improved since the departure of Gary Neville but they are a long way short of the form that saw them win at the Camp Nou earlier in the campaign. Real Madrid have been strong at home in the league this season with only the top two teams having prevailed at the Bernabeu.
12 of Real Madrid`s their last 14 home games have produced four goals or more.
