Bournemouth ended a four-game losing streak with a win at home to Huddersfield in midweek and now face a Liverpool side unbeaten in their last 16 Premier League matches.

Cherries`s fans breathed a sigh of relief as their team held on for the win against 17th-ranked Huddersfield and rose to seventh in the Premier League table. Prior to that, they had lost four in a row, although, in their defence, they faced both Manchester sides and Arsenal in that spell.

Eddie Howe`s men are well in the race to be best of the rest behind the current top five and a win here would give them a massive morale boost heading into the tough festive schedule.

Meanwhile, Liverpool arrive on the South Coast on the back of four straight wins in which they conceded just a single goal. They rested some key players in the win over Burnley on Wednesday but lost Joe Gomez to injury.

With a crucial Champions League tie against Napoli coming up next week, Jurgen Klopp has another selection headache as his team looks to rise to the top of the table, temporarily at least.

The Reds scored three goals in each of their last two away games against Watford and Burnley and scored at least twice in five of their eight away games this term. They are unbeaten on the road this term despite having visited Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Betting odds and tips

Bournemouth have only played three top eight teams at home this season and they claimed just one point from those matches via a 2-2 draw against Everton. Liverpool are the toughest team they have hosted so far and it is hard to imagine Eddie Howe`s men coming out on top.

The hosts are not the kind of side to sit back a play for a draw so they can be expected to take the game to Liverpool raising the possibility of a thrilling encounter. However, the Reds have the overall quality to prevail in a toe-to-toe contest.
