Premier League preview and odds: Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace
January 12, 2016 19:45pm - Villa Park
Premier League
Aston Villa can increase their point`s tally to double figures on Tuesday night when they face European qualification hopefuls Crystal Palace at Villa Park in the Barclays Premier League.
Villa cut adrift
With over half of the season gone and just eight points accumulated, the spectre of relegation now seems like an inevitable reality for stricken Aston Villa.
New boss Remi Garde has done little to improve the Villains fortunes - although it could argued that the damage had already been done by the time he arrived back in November.
In their last game, they were comfortably beaten by the fellow relegation candidates Sunderland and now sit 11 points adrift of the safety zone with the worst goal difference in the league.
Palace still in race for Euro place
Crystal Palace will be looking to bounce back after slipping up at home to Chelsea in the last round of Premier League matches. The 0-3 defeat brought to an end a run of six games unbeaten for Alan Pardew`s men.
The Eagles have a good record on the road this term, having lost just two of their nine away games with their last defeat coming at Leicester back in October.
Team news
The home side are still without Adama Traore, Alan Hutton and Jordan Amavi, while Gabriel Agbonlahor and Carlos Sanchez could both return.
Meanwhile, Palace will continue without Yannick Bolasie, Bakary Sako and Kwesi Appiah, while striker Dwight Gayle could make his return.
