Manchester United vs. Liverpool - Premier League Preview and Odds
March 10, 2018 12:30pm - Old Trafford
Premier League
Manchester United may have only scraped past Crystal Palace on Monday night but coming into this fixture on the back of a win. Meanwhile, Liverpool barely broke a sweat in midweek, closing out their Champions League tie against Porto by retaining the 5-0 cushion they claimed in the first leg.
The Red Devils were saved from embarrassment after going 2-0 down to Roy Hodgson`s men thanks to a second half recovery that culminated in a last gasp goal from Nemanja Matic. Despite grabbing all three points, it was a poor defensive display form the Old Trafford side and poses some serious questions ahead of Saturday`s game.
Jose Mourinho`s men are now unbeaten in four matches and sit second in the table with both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur waiting to pounce. Defeat at the weekend wound hand the advantage to their rivals from down the M62.
Meanwhile, Liverpool come into this game having won five of their last seven matches in all competitions. They have only been defeated once in their last 20 Premier League matches and will leapfrog United with a win. They have only lost one of their last nine away matches in the league and will probably feel more confident than ever that they can get a result at a Stadium that has not always been a happy hunting ground. Having said that, Mourinho`s men have lost just one league game at home this term so it will not be an easy task.
Betting odds and tips
Jurgen Klopp`s men have scored two or more goals in eight of their last nine league matches away from home, while Manchester United have scored in all but one of their last 18 home matches. As a result, the Both Teams to Score bet looks like the best option here. Mo Salah already has 24 goals to his name and will be favourite to get on the score sheet again.
Both Teams to Score can be backed at a price of 4/6, while in-form Liverpool forward Mo Salah can be backed to score anytime at 11/8.
