Chelsea vs Huddersfield Town - Premier League Preview and Odds
May 9, 2018 19:45 – Stamford Bridge
Premier League
Chelsea host Huddersfield as Antonio Conte`s men look to break into the top four of the Premier League and secure Champions League qualification.
Just a few weeks ago it seemed Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte had lost the dressing room as was heading for the sack, five games later they are undefeated with four consecutive wins.
The Italian may still be heading for the exit door but after the win over Liverpool last weekend it is hard to believe the players are not playing for their coach. A win against struggling Huddersfield and the Blues will be level on points with Liverpool and a point ahead of Tottenham.
Conte proved his desire to finish the season on a high, getting his tactics spot on to nullify the front three of Liverpool. The former Juventus coach dropped a forward for an additional midfielder in that game, but is expected to be more attacking in midweek. This current four-match winning streak equals their best run of the season and includes gritty fight backs against Southampton and Burnley.
Huddersfield come into the game after a goalless draw against Premier League champions Manchester City. Despite an excellent start to life in the Premier League, they have crumbled in the second half of the season and now find themselves in danger of relegation. A point or more on Wednesday would erase those fears.
The Terriers have won just one of their last eight Premier League games and find themselves three points above the relegation zone. Along with West Ham they are not mathematically safe with two games left to play.
Away from home is where the real problems lie David Wagner`s men. They have won just three league games on the road this season, losing 11 of their other 15 matches. Worryingly, they have only scored 11 goals in this time, failing to find the net on 13 occasion. Overall they have failed to score in 20 of their 36 Premier League matches.
Huddersfield won their first Premier League match against a side from London this season, winning 3-0 at Crystal Palace on the opening day, but since then have lost all seven matches against teams from the capital by an aggregate score of 22-2.

Betting odds and tips
A massive upturn in form from the home side combined with HuddersfieldÂ’s horrendous record against London clubs and a dire goal scoring record away from home, all point towards a home win. However, the visitors could at least restrict the Blues to a low goal count.
A home win with less than 2.5 goals is the pick in this one.
