Premier League preview and odds: Burnley vs AFC Bournemouth
December 10, 2016 15:00pm - Turf Moor
Premier League
Burnley will look to halt a three-game slide when they welcome mid-table dwellers AFC Bournemouth to Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, the visitors could make further in-roads into the top 10 with a win in Lancashire.
Survival still priority for Newcomers
So far this season, Newly-promoted Burnley have managed to keep their heads above the relegation water but a recent run of three-straight defeats has left them languishing in 15th place just three points above the drop zone.
On a positive note, the Clarets have been better on home soil having lost just two of their last seven at Turf Moor, with both of those defeats coming against teams in the top four (Arsenal and Manchester City).
Sean Dyche`s men come into this game on the back of a 0-2 defeat away to Stoke City. Prior to that, they were beaten at home for only the third time this season when they fell 2-1 to Manchester City.
Meanwhile, AFC Bournemouth will be hoping to carry some momentum from last weekend`s remarkable home win over Liverpool (4-3)with them when they make the long journey north.
Eddie Howe`s men have picked up just five of their 18 points on the road this term, but their strong home form means has kept them on course for a comfortable mid-table finish. They showed great character to come from two goals behind against one of the title favourites last week, but so far this season, their only triumph on the road came against Stoke City back in November (0-1).
Team news
The home side have just one injury to worry about, with Johann Gudmundsson out of action with a hamstring problem.
Meanwhile, the visitors will welcome back Charlie Daniels from a hip injury, while Junior Stanislas (ankle), Andrew Surman (hamstring) and Lewis Cook (ankle) are all on the crocked list.
Recent form (League):
Burnley: LLLWD
AFC Bournemouth: WLWLL
Betting odds and tips
In total, 13 of Burnley`s 14 points have been gathered on home soil, and all but one of their goals have also been scored in their own backyard.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth have just one away win to their name this term. As a result, the price for a home win looks like good value in this game.
