Premier League preview and odds: Swansea City vs Sunderland

December 10, 2016 15:00pm - Liberty Stadium

Premier League

Bottom-of-the-pile Swansea City will attempt to make it two home wins out of two when they welcome a resurgent Sunderland side to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Sunderland themselves can could escape the bottom three with a win in Wales.

Tough times ahead for Bob Bradley`s men

It has been a fortnight of highs and lows for Swansea fans, as the joy of their 5-4 victory over Crystal Palace was followed by the misery of their 5-0 hammering at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur last time out.

The Swans now have a chance to bag consecutive league wins for the first time this term when fellow drop zone dwellers make the long journey south west.

Bob Bradley has yet to convince the Swansea faithful that he is the right man for the job after failing to turn around the club`s fortunes following the departure of Francesco Guidolin. However, his side did at least show some fighting spirit in the goal-ridden game against Palace.

Meanwhile, David Moyes has led his side to three wins in their last four games, a run that has put them within a point of safety in the league table. Sunderland`s revival has been helped by the goal-scoring form of Jermaine Defoe, who scored in all three of their recent wins and now has eight for the season.

Last time out, the Black Cats edged to 2-1 win over defending Premier League champions Leicester City. Prior to that, they rarely got a look in when they went down 2-0 to title candidates Liverpool.

Away from home, the northeast club failed to score in four of their last five but will fancy their chances of finding the net against a team that has conceded more goals at home (16) than any other in the current campaign.

Team news

Frederico Fernandez and Ki Sung-yeung are both out of action for the home side with broken toes.

Meanwhile, the visitors could welcome back Jason Denayer from illness, while Duncan Whatmore (ACL), Steven Pienaar (concussion), Lynden Gooch (ankle), Paddy McNair (ACL), Lee Cattermole (hip), Jack Rodwell (hamstring) and Fabio Borini (groin) are all expected to miss out.

Recent form (League):

Swansea City: LWDLL

Crystal Palace: WLWWL

Betting odds and tips

Swansea City have conceded at least two goals in all but one of their home matches this term, while Sunderland have conceded at least one goal in all of their away matches.

As a result, this game is a good candidate for a Goals Galore or Both Team to Score bet. In addition, this can be combined with the draw to produce better value.

You can back a Draw and Both Teams to Score at 10/3 with Bet365.
